“Religion in the Age of Science,” six weeks of facilitated conversation here in the Parish Hall at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM. Free and open to the public. We will serve soup, bread, and beverages at 6:30; there is no need to bring anything. [Download or open the WinterSeries2012 flyer.]

Spend six weeks tackling key questions through a diverse program using a variety of media, texts and conversations facilitated by The Reverend David Gunderson. Together we will consider:

  • What questions are appropriate to science and what questions are appropriate to religion?
  • How do these modes of inquiry intersect or conflict?
  • What are my questions and how are they answered? What do I believe?
  • The future of religion in an age of science.
  • Recovering meaning in religious symbols.
  • How do we live in the 21st Century? Converting understanding into action.

Though not required, the Winter Series can be a thoughtful precursor to the “Lenten Enquirers’ Class” to be held on Thursday evenings from March 8 through March 29. This 4-week program during Lent will explore the basic framework of Christian beliefs and practice.
Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM. Free and open to the public.
